The Glaciers and Mount Cook

Its funny with the palm in the foreground and the Franz Josef glacier in the background.

We walked to the Franz Josef Glacier...

Me in front of the Franz Josef Glacier...

Here you can see the glacial lobe of the Franz Josef Glacier.

We couldn`t see mount cook (the highest mountain in NZ) that good, cause it was just to cloudy.

A bad, but my best, picture of the Fox Glacier.

Again the Fox Glacier.

this picture was made on the way from the glaciers down the west coast. I was hitchhiking with a very nice couple, wich was stopping often for pictures and I get a lunch from them ;-)

Near to Wanaka...

Way to the Glaciers

We met Emanuel from Portugal, he picked us up for about 200 km to the glaciers...

Here you can see me, talking about some stuff... (no idea about what)

Emanuel, dancing in front of the lake...

Linda, taking fotos of us ;-)

Punakaiki

Gregor, Katalin, Robert and me splitt up for hitchhicking, but I was a bit to slow so I lost them...
But I met Linda and cause she was hitchhicking in the same direction we decided to hichhick together...

Thats Linda and me, we became stuck on the westcoast, so we had much time for taking fotos, catching sheeps et cetera...

Maybe you can see the sheep in the backround

We stop for one night in Punakaiki, its famous for the pancakerocks. You can see them on this and the next picture...

The Abel Tasman National Park

Gregor, Katalin, Robert and me done a three day hikking in the abel tasman national park. Here are some pictures:

The famous apple rock, I never heard about before...

That was the beach we start. The hole walk was along the coast.

The hut for our first night.

Just a nice beach.

The view from our hut in the evening, you can see its nearly high tide.

Sleeping on a boat

While I was hitchhikking, I met a really nie older, neuseeland couple, how allowed me to stay one night on there boat. That was really nice...

Here you can see Peter with their dog in front of their car. Shirley is inside cooking some coffee.

I was sleeping in the red boat, while them were sleeping in their bus...

Tongariro Alpine Crossing

I done the Tongarior Alpine crossing, a walk from about 20 km with some guys I met in the hostel and it was just awsome. The walk is betwen the Mount Tongariro and Mount Ngauruhoe. They are both aktive Vulcanes and you also can climb on Mount Ngauruhoe. Its the Mountain, wich was used for the "Schicksalsberg" in Lord of the rings.
You can see the landscape is changeing very often and the hole way is really mystical.

This is how the way looks maybe the first km.

Thats the view from the top of  Ngauruhoe. It takes about two hours to climb on this Mountain.
Thats also on the top of Mount Ngauruhoe.

It was sad, there were a little bit to many clouds, but many people told me there are nearly every time clouds.

That picture was made after about two hours of walking, nearly everywhere you can smell the sulfur...

That is Mount Ngauruhoe. Its really cold and windy on the top, cause its about 2250 meters high.

In the begining of the day its a bit more quite

Here you maybe can see a little bit how windy it was...

For this three, small lakes Tongariro Alpine Crossing is famous...

An other beutiful lake...

An other beutiful mountain... ;-)

In the end, the landscape gets much greener.

Nearly finished, in the end I was realy tired...
